    Small onion Chutney Recipe

Spicy Small onion Chutney -Small onions/shallots/pearl onions are better to consume than big onions because of their nutritional values. It reduces the body heat, best for diabetics and good for the stomach too! Hence I will try to use small onions wherever possible.

Small onions chutney is spicy, flavorful and tasty. Amma makes this chutney often and it is very simple to make. It requires only a few ingredients and can be done within 15 minutes. It's best with Idli but goes well with Dosa and ragi Dosa too. Let's see the recipe

    Notes:

    1. This chutney tastes good without tempering. If you want you can temper with mustard seeds  & curry leaves.
    2. A pinch of tamarind can also be added to this chutney while grinding.
    3. Don't fry the chutney for a long time after grinding which turns the chutney to taste bitter.
    4. The color of the chutney depends on the red chili variety used.
    5. Add a generous amount of sesame oil to reduce the hotness.
