    Drumstick Leaves Soup for Babies, Toddlers and Kids

    Drumstick Leaves Soup/Moringa Leaves Soup/Murungai Keerai Soup - healthy, tasty soup with drumstick leaves, and little spices for babies, toddlers, and kids. Moringa leaves are a rich source of antioxidants, protein, calcium, iron, and vitamins especially Vitamin C. It is highly beneficial for the babies, kids and lactating moms who are in need of essential nutrients.

    Drumstick Leaves Soup Recipe for Babies, Toddlers, and Kids| Easy Soup Recipes

    Drumstick Leaves Soup - Easy and healthy soup for babies and kids with Drumstick leaves & mild spices.

    Ingredients

    • Fresh Drumstick Leaves - 2 cups
    • Onions - 2 tablespoon finely chopped
    • Tomato - 1 small
    • Garlic - 3 small cloves finely chopped
    • Black Peppercorns - ¼ Tsp
    • Salt - as required
    • Turmeric powder - ⅛ tsp
    • Water -1.5 cups
    • Sesame Oil- 1 Tsp
    • Cumin seeds - ½ tsp

    Instructions

    • Wash drumstick leaves in running water well. Finely chop onions, tomato & garlic. Keep all the other ingredients ready. In a pressure cooker, heat a teaspoon of oil and add cumin seeds. Let it splutter. Then add peppercorns and garlic. Saute them for two minutes.
    • Now add onions. Fry them nicely until golden brown. Add in tomato and fry them until mushy.
    • Then add in washed drumstick leaves. Sprinkle required salt and turmeric powder. Give a quick stir.
    • Add 1.5 cups of water. Pressure cook everything together for two whistles in medium low flame. Once the pressure is released from the cooker, open it.
    • Strain the soup over a bowl with a strainer. Press it with a spoon to get more soup.

    Murungai Keerai Soup Preparation Method:

    Notes :

    • You can also grind or mash the soup instead of staring. But I would recommend straining the soup for small babies and kids, as too as it might not suit some children and cause diarrhea.
    • Make sure to wash the drumstick leaves well to get rid of mud if any.
    • Adjust spices according to your preference.
    • Don't use more water than mentioned for pressure cooking. Otherwise, the soup will be watery.
    • Always check with your pediatrician before introducing any new food.
    • Skip salt for babies below one year.
