Oats Apple Porridge Recipe step 1

Oats Apple Porridge - healthy porridge recipe made oats and apples. I have already a posted a plain oats porridge recipe with homemade oatmeal cereal. This oats apple porridge is a nice variation to that with the healthy addition of apples. Its light on the stomach and hence its perfect for breakfast or even dinner. I made this oats porridge with plain water, but cows milk can be used as well for toddlers.

This apple oats porridge recipe can be given to babies from 8 months and check here on introducing and selecting oats for babies. This porridge tastes good even plain without adding any additional sweetener as it has a natural sweetness from the apples. But you can add jaggery syrup, dates syrup or raisins paste to enhance the taste.

    Notes :

    • If the porridge becomes too thick, add boiled water/formula or breast-milk to adjust the consistency while feeding your baby.
    • For small babies, you can use apple puree instead of grated apples.
    • You could also use 1 cup of boiled cows milk instead of water for babies above one year.
    • Skip sweetener for babies below one year. Use dates syrup or raisins paste (soak raisins overnight and make a paste with little water using a blender and add it) if required.
    • Always check with your doctor before giving any new food to your baby.
