    Instant Dalia khichdi Porridge Recipe for babies
    Instant Dalia khichdi Recipe - quick dalia or broken wheat khichdi recipe for babies using homemade Dalia khichdi mix made with broken wheat and moong dal. This is very handy during travel if you want to give homemade food to your baby. Dalia Khichdi tastes bland without salt, hence add vegetable purees like carrot, potato, sweet potato etc to this khichdi to make it more wholesome, healthy and tasty! Dalia khichdi is ideal for babies from 8 months. Now lets get on to check how to make this instant dalia khichdi recipe for babies.

    Instant Dalia Khichdi - instant khichdi/porridge made with dalia/ broken wheat & moong dal which makes a wholesome food for babies.

    Ingredients

    • Homemade Dalia Khichdi Mix - 2 tbsp
    • Water - 1 cup
    • Ghee - ¼ tsp

    Instructions

    • Take 2 tablespoon of homemade dalia khichdi mix in a sauce pan and add 1 cup of water to it. Mix well with a whisk. Make sure that no lumps are formed. Cook everything in low flame for 5 to 8 minutes or until its is completely cooked. Switch off the flame.
    • Once everything is cooked it will be in sauce consistency. Add ghee and give a quick stir. Switch off the flame once done. Let it cool down and feed your baby

     Method :

    Notes :
    • Generally dalia or moong dal doesn't cause any allergies, but check for symptoms and stop feeding your baby if you find any.
    • Always check with your pediatrician before introducing any new food.
    • Increase the water quantity to 1.5 cups and make the khichdi watery and thin when you are introducing this porridge to your baby.
    • Salt or sugar is not advisable for babies under one year.
    • This dalia khichdi will become thick after cooling down, so switch off the flame accordingly. Adjust with warm water if it becomes too thick.
    • You could add any vegetable puree to this dalia khichdi to make it more healthy.
