- Poha/flattened rice/Aval - ½ cup
- Coconut Milk/Formula milk/cow's milk - 1cup
- Cashews - 3
- Almonds - 3
- Dates - 4
- Raisins - 1 tsp
- Cardamom - 1
- Jaggery - 1 to 2 tsp optional
Instructions
- Keep all ingredients ready. Wash poha in running water and soak it for 5 minutes or until soft.
- Now grind all the ingredients mentioned the ingredients table with soaked poha in a blender until smooth. Don't add formula milk (if using) now to blend.
- Transfer the blended poha nuts mix to a saucepan and heat it. Mix well and cook it for 5 minutes (I used coconut milk so just heated for 2-3 minutes) or until it thickens and creamy consistency is reached. Switch off the flame once done. Cool it down.
- If using formula milk, heat the poha nuts mix without adding formula. Prepare formula milk separately and add it to the kheer once its cooled down.

Notes :
- This poha kheer tastes best with coconut milk. Poha kheer gets a little thickened after cooled down, so switch off the flame accordingly.
- Skip jaggery and cow's milk for babies below one year. Add fruits if you prefer more sweetness.
- If using cow's milk and jaggery together, make sure to add cow's milk at room temperature, as it might get curdled.
- If using formula milk, heat the poha nuts mix without adding formula. Prepare formula milk separately and add it to the kheer once its cooled down.
- You could also add fruits of your choice to this poha kheer.
