- Poha/flattened rice/Aval - ½ cup
- Coconut Milk/Formula milk/cow's milk - 1cup
- Cashews - 3
- Almonds - 3
- Dates - 4
- Raisins - 1 tsp
- Cardamom - 1
- Jaggery - 1 to 2 tsp optional
Keep all ingredients ready. Wash poha in running water and soak it for 5 minutes or until soft.
Now grind all the ingredients mentioned the ingredients table with soaked poha in a blender until smooth. Don't add formula milk (if using) now to blend.
Transfer the blended poha nuts mix to a saucepan and heat it. Mix well and cook it for 5 minutes (I used coconut milk so just heated for 2-3 minutes) or until it thickens and creamy consistency is reached. Switch off the flame once done. Cool it down.
If using formula milk, heat the poha nuts mix without adding formula. Prepare formula milk separately and add it to the kheer once its cooled down.
Serving: 2g
