    Suji Ghee Cookies Recipe for Toddlers

    Semolina Cookies/ suji Ghee Cookies/Rava Biscuits- easy and tasty cookie recipe made with semolina, whole wheat flour and cardamom powder! Cookies are my daughters favorite, so i try different varieties. This suji cookies is a recent hit at home as its super delicious and crispy with the aroma of ghee.

    These semolina cookies looks soft when you take from oven , but it turns crispy once its completely cooled down. so don't tempt to over bake the cookies as it turns hard. It can be given to toddlers after one year. These cookies are sure to be a favorite with your kids and also perfect for special occasions like Christmas or New year.     Semolina Cookies Recipe for Toddlers and Kids

    Semolina Cookies - easy eggless cookie recipe with semolina/suji and whole wheat flour

    Ingredients

    • Semolina/ Fine Suji -1 cup
    • Whole Wheat Flour - 1 cup
    • Cardamom powder - ¼ tsp
    • Baking powder - ⅛ tsp optional
    • Brown Sugar - ¾ cup
    • Clarified Butter/ Melted Ghee - ½ cup
    • Boiled Milk - 2 tbsp

    Instructions

    • Measure and keep all the ingredients ready. Also preheat the oven to 180 deg C for 10 minutes. Take whole wheat flour, semolina/suji, baking powder(optional) and cardamom powder in a sieve. Sieve it together and keep aside.
    • Take the ghee in a mixing bowl. Add brown sugar and milk to it. Mix well until the sugar is completely melted.
    • Then add the sieved semolina whole wheat flour (dry ingredients) to the ghee sugar mix (wet ingredients). Start kneading the dough with your hands gently and continue kneading until you get the non sticky dough consistency.
    • Now take the cookie dough, start making balls and flatten it using your palms. Then line the cookie tray with a cookie sheet/parchment paper. Arrange the cookies in parchment paper, bake in the preheated oven for 15 -20 minutes (baking time depends on the size of the cookies and oven) at 180° C till cookies are browned at the bottom. Allow to cool in tray completely and serve the cookies.

    Notes
     :

    • You can use melted butter instead of ghee. But ghee gives a nice flavor and taste to this semolina cookies.
    • Adjust with wheat flour or milk while kneading the dough to reach the non sticky dough consistency if needed.
    • You can add any nuts of your choice to this cookies for added taste.
    • The cookies stays well for a week at room temperature if stored in an airtight container.
    • Keep an eye on the oven after 15 minutes of baking and check cookies turned brown at the bottom though the cookies may look soft. After cooling down the cookies will turn crunchy.
    • Dont tempt to over bake the cookies as it might turn hard.
    • You can even powder the sugar for making the process easy.
    • Mixing and measurements are most important for the perfect cookies.
