Measure and keep all the ingredients needed. Heat a thick bottomed pan with a tsp of ghee.
Add in chopped nuts and fry in ghee until golden brown. Remove from flame once done. In the same pan, add 1.5 cups of milk.
Add 1/4 cup of barley flour to the pan. Mix well with a whisk. Make sure that no lumps are formed.
Cook the barley flour in low flame for 5 minutes or until it is completely cooked in sauce thick consistency.
Once the powder is cooked to a sauce consistency, add sugar/jaggery along with cardamom. Give a quick stir.
Now add in the remaining one cup of milk and boil it further for 5-7 minutes in low medium flame. Stir it occasionally otherwise the kheer may stick to the bottom.
Once the kheer is slightly thick in consistency , add in ghee fried nuts/nuts powder and Switch off the flame once done. Let the kheer cool down and feed your baby.
