Vermicelli Kheer - Easy and delicious kheer made with vermicelli, nuts, jaggery  and milk.

  • Vermicelli - ½ cup
  • Water - 1.5 cups
  • Milk - 1.5 cups
  • Jaggery - ½ cup
  • Cardamom - 1
  • Ghee - 2 tsp
  • Cashews - 5
  • Raisins- 1 tbsp
  1. Keep all the ingredients ready. In a pam dry roast the vermicelli until golden brown.
  2. Then add required amount of water to the roasted vermicelli and cook it covered until its cooked well and turns transparent.
  3. In the meantime, ghee fry the cashews&raisins and keep it ready. Heat jaggery in a pan with water till it immersed level until its melt completely. Then strain the jaggery water using a strainer to remove the impurities. Also boil the milk and keep it ready.
  4. Once the vermicelli is cooked well, add jaggery water with a tsp if ghee and cook it further in low medium flame with occasional stirring for 5 minutes. Once the jaggery is well mixed with the vermicelli, switch off the flame .
  5. Now add boiled milk at room temperature to the vermicelli and then add ghee fried cashews & raisins. Mix well .
